BJP’s pre poll pledges have turned into post poll somersaults: Harsh

 STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) called upon the people of Jammu region to get united on common issues irrespective of their political affiliations in order to wage a decisive battle against the perpetuated bias of the BJP-PDP coalition against the Dogra Land.
In furtherance of its avowed mission of “fight for Jammu”, the JKNPP on Monday organised a public awareness rally in Raipur.
Chairman JKNPP and former Minister, Harsh Dev Singh said that the people of Jammu region who were nurturing high hopes from BJP were feeling extremely disappointed over the highly timid and non-challant approach of the Saffron Party towards the issues of Jammu region as well as the concerns of unemployed youth. He said that while the fight for AIIMS, artificial lake project over the river Tawi and new recruitment policy had to continue, there were several issues on which the BJP had compromised at the cost of its kernel philosophy. He further said that the issue of State Subject for West Pak Refugees, voting rights to them in Assembly and local bodies polls, State Government jobs for such WPRs, issuance of Dogra certificate to Jammu youth, State Subject for children of daughters of J and K married outside, empowerment of Jammu, abolition of Custodian Department and conferment of ownership rights to its occupants, gainful employment for educated unemployment youth were some of the highlights of the BJP’s Elections manifesto which ensured its ascendance to power. He however regretted that the BJP’s pre-poll promises turned into post poll somersaults thus belying all hopes and aspirations of the Jammu people. He said that JKNPP shall continue with its resolute and determined move to fight against the BJP-PDP coalition for restoration of AIIMS, issues of WPRs, Delimitation, Artificial Lake project, new recruitment policy besides other areas of neglect of Jammu region.
Former MLA Samba and State President Young Panthers, Yash Paul Kundal said that the Common Minimum programme of the Coalition Government had nothing to offer to the people of Jammu region. He said that the only issue of Jammu region that was incorporated in CMP pertained to holding of Delimitation which was also qualified by the use of words “as required by Law”. He said that rather than making an explicit commitment in CMP on the subject the PDP led government had left the issue of Delimitation ambiguously open and capable of multiple interpretations.
He sought regularisation of all daily wagers and contractuals who had completed seven years of service and withdrawal of government order relating to termination of temporary employees. He strongly condemned the government for its failure to pay the salaries of ReTs and other teachers which were undisbursed for the last eight to nine months resulting in starvation of their families.
Pushvinder Singh Manhas State Vice President Young Panthers condemned the new recruitment policy seeking its roll back at the earliest.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Sarpanch Bhupinder Singh, Yash Paul Singh Manhas, Neeraj Gupta, Aditya Hans, Asha Rani, Purshotam Parihar, Anil Rakhwal, Nirmal Kishore, Safar Singh and Avtar Singh.
