BJP’s communal agenda detrimental: Manohar

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former Minister and General Secretary JKPCC, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma on Saturday termed the Hyderabad Central University incident as unfortunate.
Alleging that the abetment to commit suicide by a Dalit student was the part of BJP’s hidden agenda to create communal fissures for political gains, Manohar said that it was highly condemnable that Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani and Union MoS Bandaru Dattatreya remained instrumental in the fateful incident. He said that BJP is dividing people on communal and caste basis just to gain political mileage. “The communal agenda of BJP will surely prove detrimental for the country and its populace”, he maintained. He said that it is very unfortunate that the BJP and its leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi immediately after coming to power in centre have been rigorously engaged in polarizing society on religious and community lines.
Referring to the statement of Union MoS Foreign Affairs, V.K Singh with regard to the shameful incident of Haryana, in which members of a Dalit family were brutally murdered, Manohar said that the BJP leadership is insensitive to such incidents.
“RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remark on reservation just before Bihar State polls clearly indicated the mindset and hidden agenda of BJP and RSS”, he added.
Manohar also highlighted the negative role played by the BJP in the State to stop reservation in promotions.
He said that Modi took five days to speak on the suicide of Hyderabad Scholar Rohith Vemullah.
Apart from rhetoric, Modi did nothing till date to further check such incidents and his statement seems to be only crocodile tears.
