JAMMU: Dr Manohar Lal Sharma senior Congress leader, former Minister and General Secretary Pradesh Congress Committee coming down heavily on BJP over its failure on all fronts and for launching vicious campaign over the statement of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Leader of Opposition, Rajya Sabha and termed it as a planned step to divert the attention of the people from the issues the country is facing due to its wrong and anti people policies. Dr Sharma said Congress and its leadership supports the statement of Ghulam Nabi Azad in Rajya Sabha and completely stand by it because he has exposed the real position prevailing in country in general and on Borders in particular due to the heavy shelling by Pakistan. Dr Sharma said the ceasefire violations and trans-border terrorism which has increased manifold is all due to failure of BJP government.
Dr Sharma further said that it is very unfortunate and first time in the history of India that Modi government and BJP leadership is acting as dictators, trying to suppress the voice of general countrymen as well as the Opposition which is totally against the principles of democracy.
The wrong interpretation of Ghulam Nabi Azad’s statement is the current example of misleading the nation by campaigning through different means of communication which is very unfortunate, he asserted He asked government to clear its stand on the unfortunate deaths of more than 70 innocent people while standing in queues to exchange the currency in banks and ATMs throughout the country after demonetisation. He however, expressed profound grief over the loss of lives.
Claiming that Ghulam Nabi Azad is a leader of national stature and voice of 125 crore countrymen, he advised BJP to do introspection on its acts and deeds and then level charges against others.
