BJP surrenders on its fundamentals for power lust: Harsh

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Expressing his dismay over the highly opprobrious remarks of the Chief Minister made in the Assembly yesterday, dubbing the protagonists of Article 370 abrogation as anti-nationals, Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP Chairman and former Minister, on Tuesday questioned the BJP for their mute silence in the Assembly at the time the controversial speech was delivered rebuking contemptuously the core philosophy of the saffron brigade.
He wondered that none of the 25 members of the BJP including Ministers and MLAs could muster enough courage to confront the PDP Chief who challenged the very fundamentals and ideological DNA of its Junior Partner in the government when Mehbooba roared in the Assembly yesterday over the issue of Artocle 370, the “blind, deaf and deluded” ministers and MLAs of BJP silently acquiesced without uttering a word.
He said that it was only the public outrage in Jammu and central leaders’ bashing that forced the BJP today to meekly seek the expunging of the CM’s remarks. He was addressing a press conference in Jammu on Tuesday.
Ridiculing the feeble noise made by a few of the BJP leaders in the Assembly today, Singh described the same as mere window dressing for the gullible.
He said that it was sheer dramatics in the Assembly today with the narcissistically pleased leaders of the BJP vainly attempting to satisfy the people that Mehbooba’s remarks have been expunged from records and that everything was ok. He said that the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues have been repeatedly making such statements in the Assembly with the power hungry ministers of BJP helplessly watching their seven decade old philosophy blown into smithereens. He said that calling the opponents of Article 370 as anti-nationals, the CM had hurled the most sulphurous insult upon the saffron party and its ideologues including Dr. Shyama Parsad Mukherjee who laid down his life while fighting Art 370 and whose sacrifice had been politically exploited by the BJP to climb on to the ladder of power.
Calling upon the BJP to withdraw from government, Singh re-iterated and reminded the BJP that brokering a deal with PDP was like borrowing from Shylock which would ultimately cost it a pound of flesh in the form of Jammu’s self respect and pride.
Gagan Pratap Singh General Secretary Young Panthers and Parshottam Parihar State Secretary PTU were also present during the press conference.
