JAMMU: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Shamsher Singh Manhas, while chairing a workshop of party District and Mandal Presidents, stressed upon them to reach the public and help in availing the benefits of centrally sponsored schemes. He said that the PM Narendra Modi has launched various schemes with a motive of economic and social empowerment of the poor and weaker sections. “PM Ujwala Yojana (PMUY) is one such major scheme for the benefit of the BPL ration card holders across the country”, Manhas said and added that in Jammu and Kashmir also this scheme is being extended to the deserving people. He said that anyone whose names figure in 2011 census, can be the beneficiary. He asked that if any complaint related to implementation of the scheme is noticed, it should be immediately taken up with the concerned authorities so that the genuinely deserving people are not deprived of the scheme.BJP State Addl. Media Secretary Rakesh Mahajan, who has been designated as the State Incharge of PMUY, while giving presentation on the scheme and various related formalities, said that it is a very innovative scheme which has been formulated keeping in mind the problems being faced by women folk in particular.
