BJP goes on ‘silent mode’, prefers anti-national over nationalists: Manjit

VIJAYPUR: Former Minister and JKPCC General Secretary Manjit Singh accused ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) supporting anti-nationalist people who attacked army in Kashmir during unrest and now given compensation by the government.
Manjit Singh, who chairing a meeting at Ramgarh, said that the Displaced Persons (DPs) have been ignored and cheated by the Coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir with regard to their compensation.
“The assurances made with the DPs were never fulfilled by the BJP. The complete compensation package announcement is yet to come, while authorities forcing DPs to give them affidavits with assurance that no further compensation would be claimed,” alleged Manjit Singh. He said that the Government has betrayed the poor DPs who fought for Indian independence and supported Indian Army at the times of crises. However, they never got support from the BJP Government or respect they deserve.
“The DPs were only used as vote banks by the BJP and after gaining power on their votes, the poor people have been left to the mercy of God,” said Manjit Singh. In contrast, same BJP Government has kept silence over compensation of Rs 5 lakhs to the stone palters and Government jobs to them.
The anti-nationalist people were preferred by the coalition Government over the nationalist people, who lost everything for the country but still waiting for their settlement. “The BJP which used to claim they are campaign of Jammu has gone on silent mode for their political gains which is to remain in power because they know in next assembly elections, people will not vote them,” he added.
