JAMMU: A meeting of senior BJP functionaries was held here on Monday to take stock of the preparations being made for Amarnath Yatra at the administrative level as also at social level by various social and religious organisations.
The meeting was presided over by MP and J and K State Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna and attended by BJP State President and MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, MLC Ashok Khajuria and State General Secretary Munish Sharma and social and religious activists who render yeoman’s service to the Amarnath Yatris.
At the meeting, it was revealed by Deputy Chief Minister that very stringent measures were being taken this year to ensure hygiene and cleanliness during the Yatra period on the entire route so that the delicate environment does not get affected. “Littering of any sort will not be allowed and mobile washrooms would be also provided to the Yatris”, he added.
“Besides, a 24×7 telephone helpline was being set up this year for the convenience of the Yatris and their relations back in their homes”, he further informed.
Avinash stressed on the need to provide such amenities and facilities in the Yatra to ensure that Yatra remains a life time experience for the Yatris.
The heads of various social and religious organisations assured that they will lend their full support for the smooth and successful Yatra.
Jugal assured that all the issues discussed in the meeting shall be implemented in true spirit for ensuring a comfortable pilgrimage for devotees.
