BJP Disciplinary Committee serves show-cause notice to four Councilors of Udhampur Municipality

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party Disciplinary Committee on Monday served a show-cause notice to four Councilors of Udhampur Municipality for moving No confidence Motion against President of Udhampur Municipal Council.
The notice issued by J&K BJP Disciplinary Committee, with Sunil Sethi as Chairman, reads “It has been brought to notice of Disciplinary Committee that Vikas Sharma Councilor Ward No 7, Neha Verma Councilor Ward No 14, Rakesh Kumar Sharma Councilor Ward No 13 and Mohd Sarber Councilor Ward No 19 have moved No confidence Motion against President of Udhampur Muncipal Council Yogeshwar Gupta of Bharatiya Janata Party without concurrence and permission of Party and is act of gross indiscipline.”
“Vikas Sharma, Neha Verma and Rakesh Kumar Sharma are elected to Udhampur Municipal Council on symbol and mandate of Bharatiya Janata Party and Mohd Sarber though not elected on Party mandate but has subsequently joined Party in presence of Dr. Jatendra Singh MOS in Union Cabinet,” it added.
“You being members of Bharatiya Janata Party has exhibited conduct which is indiscipline and highly objectionable to ethos to which Party stands,” it stated and added, “You are as such directed to show cause as to why you shouldn’t be expelled from Primary Membership of party for indulging in gross indiscipline which will also entail loosing your position as Councilor of Municipal Council Udhampur under rules. “You are further advised to immediately disassociate yourself from No confidence Motion. Your reply should reach Committee within 2 days from today positively failing which it will be presumed that you have nothing to say in matter” it concluded.
