Jamshedpur, Nov 12 (PTI) Former President of Jharkhand unit of BJP, Dineshanand Goswami, who is contesting from Baharagora assembly seat in Jharkhand, said his priority would be to generate employment opportunity to check large-scale migration of local residents to other states in search of livelihood.
As Baharagora was situated on the borders of Odisha and West Bengal, Goswami said it has enough potential for growth but unfortuantely, no concrete steps were taken in this direction in the last 14 years.
Asking the people to vote for BJP for a strong and stable government in the state, Goswami said he would strive for industrial development in Baharagora to generate employment opportunties, if voted to power.
Besides, Baharagora was the rice-bowl of the district but did not have irrigation facility, he claimed.
As far as health sector was concerned, Goswami said the health facility in the Ghatsila sub-division was in poor state and majority of the population were availing medical facilities in adjoining states of Bengal and Odisha whereas the scenario of education sector was nothing different.
The standard of education in Ghatsila sub-divison was poor compared to the standard of steel city of Jamshedpur due to inadeuate teacher-student ratio, Goswami, who filed his nomination on Tuesday, told newsmen.
Ghatsila sub-division was blessed with natural resources but the local masses were deprived of the advantage owing to lack of initiative for industrial development, he said and assured to work in this driection as well.
Expressing confidence that BJP would form a majority government in Jharkhand, Goswami said BJP was the only party which could provide a strong, stable and corruption-free government in the state.
