RAJOURI: The NSS unit of Govt. P G College Rajouri celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and National Youth Day. The theme of the programme was drugs and youth. The programme was presided upon by the Principal, Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah.
The welcome address was presented by NSS Programme Officer Prof Raheela Mushtaq. On this occasion volunteers shared their views on the given theme. Proceedings were carried out by the NSS commander Shadab Mir.
A short film on drug addiction was also shown to the volunteers to aware them about this menace. Speaking on the occasion Prof S H Shah, Principal deliberated upon the volunteers to practically implement the awareness being generated by programme and aware others also about this social evil which is grabbing the credibility of the generation like anything.
The programme was also attended by Prof M.R Sharma, HoD Zoology, Prof. Anwar Shah, Prof. Shafiya Saleem, Prof Asia Bhat, Prof Shahid Mir and Dr Tahir Hussain Shah. Vote of thanks was given by Saima, female commander.
R S PURA: BJYM celebrated Birth Anniversary of International Youth Icon Swami Vivekenand as Youth Day. BJYM activists on the eve of Birth Anniversary took out Mashal Rally in 13 districts across the State in which more than 889 Yuva Morcha activists took the Mashal Rally and raised the slogans, Bharat Mata ki Jai, Vande Matram along with patriotic songs.
BJYM State President Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra joined the Mashal Rally at District RS Pura where an impressive function was organised by BJYM District President RS Pura Akash Chopra and BJYM National Secretary Sachin Bhasin also joined Mashal Rally at RS Pura from National Team along with Cabinet Minister and PHE, Flood Control and Irrigation Sham Choudhary, MLA RS Pura Gagan Bhagat, State Secretary BJP, Prabhari RS Pura Vikram Randawa, District President BJP Brijeshwar Rana.
On the Birth Anniversary i.e 12th January, BJYM State President Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra garlanded the statue of Swami Vivekanand at Swami Vivekanand Chowk Jammu and after that Yuva Morcha activists downloaded and installed the BHIM App launched by the PM Narendra Modi. Similar function was also held in 14 districts by Yuva Morcha activists and State Office bearers across the State where they briefed common masses about BHIM App and promotes Digital Kranti among the masses. Yuva Morcha activists also uploaded the photographs in all the social media platforms under #Namo4Yuva. BJYM activist also briefed youth about the youth oriented schemes like Make In India, Skill India, Mudra Yojana and Startup India.
KATHUA: The cadets of the 1st J and K Armd Sqn. GDC Kathua organised an awareness programme on the occasion of Youth Day regarding the merits of digital payment and cashless society at village Chann Gran and Badala. The awareness programme was conducted under the supervision of Principal GDC kathua and Dr. Arun Dev Singh Associate NCC Officer Armd Wing. The principal inspired the cadets that they should conduct such programs which will add a lot of quality to the society and the citizen will have lot of information regarding Digital Payment.
RAMNAGAR: In commemoration with Swami Vivekananda Jayanti and Lohri festival, Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit of the College celebrated National Youth Day in the College with great fervour, gaiety and fanfare under the supervision of Prof. Kewal Kumar NSS PO and Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Nodal Officer Red Ribbon Club. In the programme Principal Prof. Tara Nath was the Chief Guest.
The function started with the welcome address by the convener Prof. Kewal Kumar. It was followed by a keynote address by Dr. Pankaj Sharma. On the occasion of National Youth Day Dr. Pankaj Sharma apprised all present about the role and function of youth in today’s society and also the importance of the Red Ribbon Club for total sensitisation against AIDS by involving the power of youth.
District Development Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, paid floral tributes to Swami Vivekanand at a programme organised by ‘Vishvasthali’, a Non-governmental Art and Cultural organisation to commemorate 154th Birth Anniversary of great leader and reformer of modern times.
While speaking on the occasion, the DDC highlighted the tenets of Swami Vivekananda and called upon students to take inspiration from Swami Ji’s life and must keep themselves aloof from the habit of intoxication which ruins youth, the future of nation.
A cultural performance based on folk songs, skits and solo performances was also presented by the students during the programme.
During the daylong event, painting and debate competitions besides folk song contests were held in which over 200 students from different schools and colleges of Basohli, Billawar, Kathua, Udhampur, Pathankot participated. Later, DDC gave away prizes to the excelling students. Among others SDM Basohli Dhirendra Sharma, SDPO Basohli, Principal Jawahar Navodaya Vidayala Basohli , prominent citizens and a large number of students were present.
