Biometric Attendance System becomes operational

UDHAMPUR: District Administration, Udhampur, has equipped 168 Government Offices and institutions with Biometric Attendance System (BAS) for ensuring transparency and punctuality. Moreover to facilitate the field touring the official vehicles have been equipped with Vehicle Tracking System and movement registers have already been maintained to augment BAS.
Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, launched the Biometric Attendance System in DC office and other DDOs in district headquarters enabling aadhar-based biometric attendance of employees. Addl DC Angrez Singh Rana, CPO Rakesh Jamwal, DIO-NIC Anil Sharma and other officers were present.
The offices which switched over to the Biometric Attendance System with effect from April 1, 2016 include offices of District Development Commissioner, ADDC, ADC, Planning, DSEO, Asstt Commissioner Development, IWMP, District Panchayat Officer, District Treasury, District Employment and Counselling Centre, Information Office, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, PHE Mechanical, Asstt Controller Drugs, ExEn mechanical, DFO Social Forestry, Sericulture, Agriculture, District Industries Centre, Irrigation Division, CAPD and Cooperatives Department with one BAS each while 60 offices and 40 institutions of Education Department have also been covered under BAS.
Apart from this, 4 offices of Sub-Divisional Magistrates, 8 offices of Tehsildars, 17 offices of Block Development Officers, 1 office of CDPO have also been equipped with Biometric Attendance System. Coverage of other offices is also under process and Drawing and Disturbing officers have been directed to complete the process in one week.
The DDC informed that a majority of offices have shifted to BAS and remaining offices are being facilitated to ensure universal coverage of work places. He added that due care has been taken for promoting field touring and inspections. NIC team deputed by the DDC is facilitating departments and offices for BAS.
DIO-NIC Anil Sharma is District Nodal Officer for implementation of Bio-metric Attendance System. Addl Deputy Commissioner A S Rana is incharge of the monitoring system which is functioning as part of District Innovation Council headed by District Development Commissioner, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
