JAMMU: Chairman, Health & Sanitation Committee Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Baldev Singh Billawaria organised a ‘Diwali Milan’ programme at his residence in Gangyal on Thursday, which was attended by a number of people along with members of various social organisations. On the occasion, sweets were distributed among Safaikaramcharis. Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said that on next day of Diwali, the garbage & litter filled streets are cleaned by Safaikaramcharis, so it is necessary to respect them. Terming Safaikaram-charis as corona warriors, Billawaria said that in present time entire world is thankful to Safaikaramcharis because even in this era of corona epidemic, they are serving the society with full loyalty and honesty, so that people can stay healthy. As such, people should respect these corona warriors, he asserted. Extending Diwali greetings to all participants and Jammunites, Billawaria said that we should focus on ‘Vocal for Local’ mantra given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
