Vijaypur: Hundreds of people on Friday staged protest and blocked Jammu-Pathankot national highway as motorcyclist was hit to death by bus in Samba district.
“A motorcyclist died on the spot this afternoon when a motorbike JK21-5773 he was riding on was hit by bus JK14A-4245 near Hanuman Temple in Vijaypur area of Samba,” police here said.
The deceased was identified as Rattan Singh (65), son of Karam Singh, resident of Burj Sheru, Supwal, Samba.
Police said that the family members and relatives of deceased blocked national highway amid protest demonstration. The protestors were demanding compensation and job to next of kin of deceased.
Police and administrative officials rushed to the spot to pacify the situation.
