JAMMU: Hosts Jammu and Kashmir on Monday made it an absolute 6-0 win against Vidarbha in their second group match while Madhya Pradesh (MP) and Dadra and Nagar Haveli emerged topper of group-B and group-A to find berth in the knockout stages of semifinals in the ongoing Vth Sub-Junior National Hockey (Division-B) Championship at K K Hakku Stadium, here.
Earlier, in their second league round match of group-D, sailing on superb performance from Randeep Singh, J and K made it a fine 6-0 win against Vidarbha. Randeep scored four off the six goals striking in the eighth, 21st, 50th and 53rd minute.
Navjot Singh and Vishal Sudan were other goal scorers from J&K who sounded the board in the 22nd and 61st minute of the match.
Now, in next league tie, scheduled for Tuesday, J and K shall take on Bihar. In fourth and final league engagement, J and K shall be playing against Chandigarh on 13th May. Earlier, in their opening match, J and K lost to Himachal Pradesh.
In the meantime, Madhya Pradesh and Dadar and Nagar Haveli have qualified for the next knockout stages of semifinals winning all their league matches played so far. However, the league round shall continue for two more days before the semifinals are held on 14th May.
In others matches played on Monday Assam Hockey who trounced Goans Hockey 9-0 which was followed by a cut-throat competition between Hockey Himachal and Hockey Bihar where the former lost to the latter with a 7-0 margin.
For Assam, Manish Sahani (3rd min, 15th min, 32nd min, 65th min), Nazrul Islam (22nd min, 24th min), Dibyajyoti Biswas (55th min, 61st min) and Tapan Das (59th min) scored goal while Binit Ekka (9th min), Anthony Mudu (15th min), Bhaskar Singh (28th min, 64th min, 67th min), Paudeya Munda (51st min) and Waqar Yunus (56th min) struck goal for Bihar.
Standing tall in their defence, the another match of the day was named in favour of Hockey Patiala who defeated Hockey Gujrat by 8-1.
Gurshahzad Singh (2nd min, 9th min, 42nd min), Sandeep Kumar (10th min), Gurpreet Singh (11th min, 54th min), Balwinder Singh (34th min) and Gurveer Singh (55th min) made goal for Patiala while for Gujarat, Manthan Patel (51st min) scored a maiden goal.
In the fourth match, it was Hockey Puducherry who claimed a win over Hockey Rajasthan 8-1.
For Puducherry, C. Kirupa Ebinezer (5th min), S. Surjith (9th min, 25th min, 33rd min and 69th min), V. Vinodhan (23rd min), R. Yokesh (47th min), R. Ranjith (60th min) bagged goal while Danish Ashrafi Khokhar (70min-PC) made a goal for Rajasthan.
