Bid to abduct lady advocate foiled Govt teacher among two youth arrested

JAMMU: An attempt to kidnap a lady advocate was foiled after police nabbed two Srinagar based youth including a government teacher from Indira Chowk area falling under the jurisdiction of Bus Stand Police Station.
A blue coloured Baleno car (KMU01-3106) has been seized.
Sources informed that three lady advocates, travelling in a Maruti car, were chased by two youth in a Baleno car from Janipur Court Complex.
“On reaching Indira Chowk at around 2.30 PM, they intercepted my car and tried to pull me out,” Advocate Fatima Irshad stated in her complaint to police.
Sources said that when the three girls screamed, people assembled on the spot and informed police. A police team, led by SHO Bus Stand, reached the spot and apprehended both the youth, identified as Muneer Hussain Sofi (working as government teacher), son of Abdul Rashid Sofi, resident of Ganderbal and Irshad Ahmad, son of Altaf Ahmad, resident of Srinagar.
Bus Stand Police has registered FIR (24/16 ) under sections 354, 506, 509 and 34 CRPC against the duo.
