Bhandari demands compensation on pattern of Uttarkhand

KISHTWAR : Thakur Randeep Bhandari Congress Leader Kishtwar expressed concern over the devastation caused by flash floods in both regions of the State including Kashmir Valley and Jammu region and demanded that the relief and rehabilitation measures be launched on war footing.
Bhandari also said that adequate compensation should be given least equivalent to like disaster hit people of Uttrakhand.
The government agencies, political parties, civil society and people at large, especially the youth have to work in complete coordination for erasing the scars left by the devastating floods in Kashmir Valley and many parts of Jammu province, he said adding further that the big challenge of reconstruction and rebuilding has to be met with a sense of togetherness, seriousness and fortitude.
Bhandari demand that Centre Government as well the State Government should pay house damage compensation equal to or more than Uttrakhand and also requested the Centre Government for early announcement of Special package for the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Bhandari also hailed the decision of Congress High Command who made a J and K Congress Relief Committee under the chairmanship of Ambika Soni General Secretary AICC and Incharge J and K PCC along with Ghulam Nabi Azad LOP Rajya Sabha and Saif U Din Soz President PCC J and K who along with others members of the committee visited all the flood affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
