JAMMU: Inhabitants of village Bhadrore, Jammu West and adjoining villages, who have been issued the notices under Section 133 of Land Revenue Act by the Revenue Authorities, urged upon the concerned authorities not to initiate any action against the poor farmers especially and innocent possession holders in general, till the stake holders are given proper chance to submit their replies accordingly after availing the relevant revenue documents.
Addressing a press conference, residents expressed resentment over the decision of the government thereby authenticating the concerned Tehsildars to get the State Land evacuated from the possession holders without any compensation.
“The Show Cause Notices issued by the concerned revenue authorities are just meant to cause undue harassment to the poor, needy section of the society who have been using these lands for their domestic, cultivation / agriculture purposes,” they said adding that these State Lands are being developed by the respective possession holders, thereby providing security to such lands from the land mafia.
“It is pity that the concerned authorities have not given ample time to the innocent persons, to whom these notices have been issued, for producing their relevant revenue records showing their legality over the possession,” they said.
They sought proper time for playing their part and arranging all the relevant revenue documents to prove their authenticity over the possession of the said lands.
