BHADARWAH: After four days of torrential rains, mountainous belt of Bhadarwah Valley of Distt-Doda received fresh snowfall and rains.
The snowfall covered Kailash Mountain Range, Padri Gali, Bhaal Padri, Braid Baal,Nehyed Chilly ,Seoj Dhar and Asha Pati Glacier surrounding Bhadarwah Valley, official said today.
The unseasonal snowfall has created extreme cold conditions in the area and adjoining Gandoh Valley forcing the residents to pull out warm clothing and to light up bonfires and traditional ‘Bukharies’ (fire place) to keep themselves warm.
“We have been trying to resist the cold condition for the last three days but last night we succumbed to it and were left with no other option but to light the Bukhari (fire place) which was not in use since April”, said Abdul Qayoom Mughal a resident of Dhareja Bhadarwah.
Meanwhile the fresh spell of snowfall has cast worries for farmers and horticulturists as the falling temperature will impact fruit production as well crop growth, an official said.
