BHADARWAH: A shutdown was observed by the members of particular community in Bhadarwah town and its adjoining areas to protest against the Kashmir killings and also to show resentment against Bhadarwah Police for its biased approach and allegedly, for taking orders from RSS.
Shops, other business establishments and some private schools of particular community remained closed, however government schools, offices and banks functioned normally and traffic was plying on the roads asusual.
The shutdown call was given by Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhadarwah in support of Kashmiri people, who are going through worst for the last 26 days and also lodged its strong protest against State Government for failing miserably to safeguard the human rights of a common man in Valley.
“We have given a call for peaceful bandh to show our resentment against Union and State Governments for killing and wounding unarmed Kashmiri civilians, most of the times without any provocation. The common man in Kashmir is being held as hostage for the last 26 days, this is the worst kind of human rights violation, we have ever seen,” said Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah President Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh.
Some social worker and human rights activists are also up-in-arms against government machinery for killing and wounding unarmed Kashmiri civilians, and failing miserably on human rights front.
” As far as human rights are concerned, this is the worst, we have ever witnessed in last 25 years. How long you can mislead the people by shedding crocodile tears in public and at the same time pass orders to kill and fire pellets on innocent children and women,” said a social worker and human rights activist Imtiyaz-Ur-Rehman.
” Is this the same woman, who used to beat her chest, whenever a civilian or even a militant was killed, and now she back pats security forces for killing and wounding innocent Kashmiri. This pathetic attitude of the head of a state is unfortunate and uncalled for,” Imtiyaz alleged.
