BHADARWAH: The Bhadarwah-Doda Road was reopened on Monday for two-way traffic, leading to passage of over 100 Bhadarwah Doda -bound people stranded in many parts of the Chenab Valley following closure of the road at Drodu, Sanai and Chakrna due to heavy landslides .
Two-way traffic has been allowed from Jammu to Bhadarwah in the afternoon today after closure of the road for the past few days. Hundreds of vehicles, mostly passenger vehicles and trucks , carrying essential supplies and stranded for past several days at Pul Doda and Bhalla were allowed to move to Bhadarwah.
The arterial road– the only all-weather road link between Bhadarwah and rest of the State was closed on Friday. After four days long hectic efforts of the concerned maintaining road agencies the road was made motorable today which gave relief to the passengers and administration .
“Over hundred of vehicles were stranded on the said road following the landslide” said Neeraj Manhas District President National Panthers party.
He said that the people are facing lots of problems due to the shortage of essential commodities. He urged up on the BRO (GREF) authority to clear the road by working round the clock.
