JAMMU: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Benam Tosh on Thursday assumed charge of SSP Crime, Jammu in pursuance of J&K Government, Home Department order dated January 27, 2024.
Immediately after assuming the charge, SSP held introductory meeting with the officers and sought an overview of the functioning, manpower and crime position. On his arrival, he was received by the senior officers of Crime Branch Jammu.
1999 batch JKPS officer, SSP Benam Tosh has been SHO Hiranagar as probationary DySP, Head of SOG Kathua, SDPO Nowshera Rajouri, DySP Operations Udhampur, DySP operations Jammu, Additional SP Kathua , Staff Officer to DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Additional SP Udhampur, I/C SSP Udhampur, Staff officer to IGP Railway J&K, Commandant IRP 17th Battalion Mattan Anantnag, Commandant IRP 19th Battalion Kathua and SSP Samba.
He has twice functioned as Incharge Holy Cave in South Kashmir Himalayas and has been deployed in Amarnath Yatra for over ten times.
He has also functioned as SSP JPCR Pahalgam and Incharge Special Law & Order deployment in Kargil & Leh districts of Ladakh.
He is also having performed duties in Warwan & Dachhan areas of Kishtwar, Marmat area of Doda, Ind-Gool area of Ramban, Narla-Bambal area of Rajouri, Holy Trikuta Hills and several other tough terrains of J&K.
Benam Tosh functioned as Parade Commander of J&K ‘s biggest national parades record seven times at Srinagar.
