‘Be aware, be safe-Let’s support a drug free society’

JAMMU: SHO Pacca Danga Jammu, Rakesh Jamwal visited JK Public School Panjtirthi to sensitize the jakians about the bad effects of drug addiction.
He addressed the students and staff members and expressed, “Students have to play a pivotal role to curb the drug menace which has gripped the whole country.”
He spoke in detail on different aspects of narcotics & addiction and other important aspects related to drug abuse.
He also threw light on burning topics like cybercrime, types of cybercrimes such as hacking, credit card fraud, cyber terrorism, cyber stalking, cyber bullying, child pornography, financial crimes arising out and related cyber crimes such as crime against persons, crime against property and crime against Government and tips / preventive measures against cybercrime.
He shared his experience while dealing and treating the drug addicts.
He gave a detailed speech on how to recognize that a person is addicted of drugs, treatment and testing process and also presented a detailed presentation about the menace of drugs, sources, causes, consequences, role of parents, society, teachers, Police, Health Department and Judiciary .
He urged teachers to keep a close watch on the activities and behaviour of students and be conscious towards them.
The students posed many questions related to the topic.
The Principal of JKPS Panjtirthi, Suman Banbah appreciated the steps taken by J&K Police to curb the menace of drug abuse from the society and urged the Department to hold more such interactive sessions in future too.
She further remarked, “Drug addiction is one the gravest issues that our youths are facing these days. The youth of India is intelligent and promising. Their enthusiasm and energy should be put to good use and such programs and interactive sessions leave an everlasting impact on the new generation and that is the need of the hour.”
