BBIA seeks extension of flyover upto Purmandal Morh

JAMMU: Bari Brahmana Industries Association sought extension of Flyover of SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana upto Balol Bridge Purmandal Morh.
In the meeting held here on Monday, President BBIA, Lalit Mahajan said that the issue regarding massive traffic jam reported at SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana on NH1A causing great inconvenience to the unit holders and general public at large was discussed in detail and accordingly a detailed representation was submitted to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari with a request to extend the flyover of SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana upto Balol Bridge Purmandal Morh.
It is pertinent to mention here that SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana is one of the largest and biggest industrial complex of the State having 500 to 600 large, medium, small scale units working with the employment of around 35,000 workers. With the movement of around 500-600 trucks per day and it is extremely difficult for the smooth flow of the traffic as eleven roads connecting to the SIDCO Chowk from the different directions. Moreover there is also huge rush in the Chowk due to movement of army vehicles in the area in respect of transit camps and CSD depot adjoining to the industrial complex.
The association members requested the Industries Minister, Chander Parkash Ganga to take up the matter with the Union Minister, Road Transport & Highways for the extension of flyover from SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana upto Balol Bridge Purmandal Morh with a connection from the road of industrial complex towards SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana and also to provide an alternate link to army installations in and around of the Bari Brahmana town which is need of the hour keeping in mind the security concern due to ongoing militancy in the State and with a request to take up the matter with the R&B Department to provide an alternate road link through Balol Khad to Purmandal Road.
The meeting was attended by Rahul Bansal Senior Vice President, Varun Singla Vice President, Ajay Langer,
General Secretary, Viraaj Malhota Secretary/Treasurer BBIA and other members of the association.
