Batwal community mourns demise of Buddhist monk

JAMMU: The Batwal Community condoled the demise of Buddhist monk Pragyanand who breathed his last a day before yesterday at Buddh Vihar Mandir, Lucknow city.
The Batwals of India General Secretary, R.L Kaith said Pragyanand was among the seven priests who performed ceremony in Nagpur on October 14, 1956 wherein Dr B.R Ambedkar was converted to Buddhist.
The meeting also mourned the demise of community member, Poli Ram who died yesterday at his village Tokerian after a prolong illness. “His sympathetic behaviour, simple living, religious devotion, honest approach and gentle nature will always be remembered by all”, said Organization members.
A two minutes silence was observed for eternal peace to the departed souls.
