Batote-Doda-Kishtwar highway remained closed for 3rd consecutive day

BHADARWAH : Following the continued closure of Batote-Doda-Kishtwar National Highway, The traffic movement to Kishtwar District remained suspended for the 3rd consecutive day on Sunday.
People are facing lots of problems due to closing of National Highway after a 100 meter of road eroded near Drabshalla area of Kishtwar, 27 KM from Kishtwar.
According to reports, commuters traveling on this road including those who appeared for KAS Exams at Doda and Jammu had undergone through tough time to reach their centers.
The 110 KM National Highway (NH1B) was closed due to fresh landslides and heavy boulders that eroded huge portion of the road at Kulgardi area near Drabshala of Kishtwar.
“A huge portion of mountain has caved in due to which about 100 meters of road got eroded near Drabshalla. Restoration work is going on and even some shooting stones are still coming down which is creating hurdles in restoration work, “said Traffic DTI NH1B Aftab Ahmed. “However the road clearance work is going on war footing basis and we hope that the road connectivity of Kishtwar will be restored till tomorrow evening,” DTI Aftab added.
