Basohli deserves to be declared as ‘heritage town’: BJP leader

KATHUA: Basohli richly deserves to be declared as ‘Heritage Town’ as it is famous for its miniature paintings, said Vice President BJP Kathua Constituency Surinder Singh Jamwal while laying foundation stone of 51 feet statue of Mata Mahakali here on Friday.
He said is situated on the right bank of the Ravi River at an altitude of 1,876 ft and rich of heritage and culture. The BJP leader said that the art and painting of Basohli is hailed and promoted worldwide except in Jammu and Kashmir which is a sad irony. He said that as Vice President, he is working to make Basholi as old heritage.
