Dear Editor,
Restricting bank transactions to only four a month for deposits and withdrawals through cash or cheque amounts to a joke on the public in the garb of promotion of digital transactions. The imposition of penalty is unreasonable and unjustified. Online transactions should not be made popular by force, but through gradual persuasion by educating the public and imparting knowledge for its proper operation. A majority of the populace, at present, is fearful of such transactions due to ignorance and illiteracy. The change will take time, which should be allowed by the authorities.
