KATHUA: The two day inter –zonal district tourney concluded here on Saturday with series of competitions held in different sports disciplines on the last day of the tourney.
On the final day matches were played in the discipline of Kho-kho, Volleyball, Kabaddi, U/14yrs and U/17 yrs girls.
The matches were held under the supervision of Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, Rishi Kumar and District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua, Sunil Kumar.
The Chief Guest at the closing day of the tournament was District Education and Planning Officer Kathua, Narinder Singh Sambyal. The PEM (activity In-carge) Kuldip Singh, ZPEO Pawan Kumar, PEM, Joginder Kumar and PEM Ashok Kumar were also present.
About 243 girl players from different zones of Kathua District participated in the tournament and displayed their sports talent.
FINAL RESULTS: Kho-kho U/14: 1st semifinal: Bhaddu Zone defeated Sallan Zone by one point. 2nd semifinal: Hiranagar zone defeated Lakhanpur Zone by one point. Final: Hiranagar Zone defeated Bhaddu Zone by five points.
In Kho-kho U/17: 1st semifinal: Sallan Zone defeated Kathua Zone by one point. 2nd semifinal: Lakhanpur Zone beat Marheen Zone by five points. Final: Sallan zone outplayed Lakhanpur Zone by one point.
Kabaddi U/17: 1st semifinal: Sallan Zone defeated Bhaddu Zone by 25 points: 2nd semifinal: Bani Zone defeated Kathua zone by nine points. Final: Bani Zone beat Sallan Zone by 20 points.
Volleyball U/17: final: Bani Zone defeated Lakhanpur Zone by 2-1.
The competitions were officiated by Pardeep Singh, Subash Chander, Sanjay Gupta, Sher Singh, Sukh Ram, Suchrita Mehta, Pawan Kumar, ZPEO Lakhanpur, Mandeep Singh, Karan Singh, Sanjeev Singh, Sartaj Singh and Sanjay Kumar.
