Mukherjee had sent a letter to Hamid last May with an official invitation to visit New Delhi.
During his six day stay here, the visiting President will meet Mukherjee, Vice President, Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj and other senior leaders.
He is scheduled to visit places of historical and cultural importance both in and outside Delhi.
This will be the first visit by a ceremonial Head of State of Bangladesh since 1972. The President of India had paid a State visit to Bangladesh in March 2013.
The visit of the Bangladesh President will contribute to further strengthening and expanding the close bilateral relations between our two countries.
