Bandipora Wushu meet concludes

JAMMU: Organised by the District Wushu Association Bandipora in collaboration with district administration, the two-day district championship concluded on Tuesday at Government Higher Secondary School, Ajas in Bandipore in Kashmir.
The event turned out to be a success with over 300 participation in different age groups of boys and girls, who represented different clubs and educational institutions.
At the end of the competition, top medal winner with nine gold, Syed Jaffar ud Din Bukhari Memorial Islamic School, Ajas adjudged best while second place went to Government Higher Secondary School Ajas at second place with three gold.
In total, 24 gold, as many silver and 30 bronze medals won by the athletes. Later, the selection committee of the district association also selected the teams for the upcoming UT level Wushu Championship slated for end of this year.
The closing ceremony of the event was graced Chief Guest, Major Abhinav Joshi of 13 RR Delta Company. Principal Government Higher Secondary School Ajas Bandipore, Nazir Ahmad Wani was Guest of Honour.
The closing function was also graced by Padmashree Fasil Ali Dar and other prominent sports personalities of the district.
The visiting guest, Fasil Ali Dar congratulated the organizers of this event. The District Bandipora Wushu Association also expressed its gratitude to the distinguished guests.
