JAMMU: Churchill Brothers and Sainik Colony on Tuesday advanced into the next round winning their respective matches in the ongoing Bararsi Dass Memorial Football Tournament, organised by Young Roves Club at GGM Science College Ground, here.
In the first match of the day, Churchill Brothers defeated NGR XI 4-2. Karun Raina (21st and 48th) and Noman (34th and 58th) were the scorers.
Akhil (43rd) and Sunil (53rd) were the scorers for NGR XI.
Meanwhile, in other scheduled match of the day, one of the title contenders, Sainik Colony blanked Musa Club 3-0. Sunil Singh (6th), Dharam (40th) and Sourab (55th) were the scorers.
Prominent persons among those who witnessed today’s matches were Dr Nirmolak Singh, S.M Gill, Surinder Singh Bunty, Surjeet Singh, Janak Raj, Feistus Sotra, Ramesh Chander, Paramjit Singh, Bharat Bhushan and Mohan Lal.
FIXTURE: Jammu United shall take on Engineers XI at 3:00 PM; Vijay Club to meet Young Tigers at 4:30 PM tomorrow.
