BAJ to suspend work on May 18

JAMMU: Taking serious note on shifting of AIIMS to Kashmir, J and K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) decided to suspend the work on 18th May in all the Courts of Jammu District.
The decision came during a meeting of JKHCBA Jammu held under the chairmanship of its President Advocate Abhinav Sharma. The meeting reiterated its demand for setting up All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Jammu.
The members of the Association held the Union Government responsible for giving step motherly treatment to people of Jammu Division. The meeting said that while presenting General Budget on 28th February 2015, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced that All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) shall be set up at Jammu. In the meeting, the members of the Association took strong exception to the statements made by Chief Minister about setting up of AIIMS in Kashmir and upgrading district hospitals and Super Specialty Hospital in Jammu. The meeting decided to call upon all the Ministers belonging to Jammu Division and also the MLAs to either force the Central Government to setup AIIMS at Jammu or else they should step down. The members of Bar Association warned that if the representatives of Jammu Division failed in accomplishing the same, the JKHCBA supported by other organisations will not hesitate to exposing them in the public for defeating the interest and cause of Jammu Division in order to remain in power.
