JAMMU: 1st Additional sessions Judge Jammu MA Chowdhary Thursday rejected the bail application of Tejinder Pal Singh and Sameer Ahmed who were facing trial in alleged smuggling of capsules and corex bottles.
As per police case 864 capsules of proxyvon and 80 bottles of corex has been recovered from accused Tejinder Pal Singh and 792 capsules and 70 bottles had been recovered from Sameer Ahmed on October 30, 2015 by the officials of Gandhi Nagar Police at Bikram Chowk during the search of the vehicles.
1st Additional sessions Judge Jammu MA Chowdhary after hearing APP Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the state, observed that keeping in view the enactment of the NDPS Act the ever increasing menace of drug peddling and illegal sale and its ramifications on the society and the youth in particular and cause for increase in the crime rate, nature and seriousness of accusation against the applicants, the character of evidence, circumstances which are peculiar to the accused, the larger interest of the society and State, Court is of the view that no good ground is made out by the petition and rejected the same.
