Bail denied in rape case

STATE TIMES NEWS
RAMNAGAR: Judicial Magistrate Ist Class (JMIC) Ramnagar Renu Dogra rejected the bail application of accused Parshotam Singh, son of Raj Singh in rape case.
According to the case, the applicant has allegedly committed rape upon the victim when she was passing through an isolated place along with her minor brother while on her way to home. After committing the offence the accused threatened the victim of dire consequences if she discloses it to her parents or anybody else. Getting scared about the safety and security, the girl informed her parents who lodged a complaint in Police Station and subsequently a case vide FIR No. 126/216 under Sections 376, 382, 341 and 323 RPC was registered.
After hearing both the sides, the JMIC observed that the accused is said to have committed an offence of rape on the girl and if the accused is granted bail, it will have an adverse effect on the public at large. She observed that the act of the accused has tarnished the image of the girl in the society and has leveled a stigma on her whole life.
The Court observed that the offence committed by the applicant/accused is an offence against the society and general public where the court is required to play its role in ensuring that the cause of public justice is not abandoned. The JMIC said that going by the nature of offence and severity of the punishment, the accused does not appear to be entitled to the grant of bail.
The Court in the wake of above discussion, rejected the bail application of the accused.
