JAMMU: Senior Congress leader and leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad today visited the family of deceased former Congress Minister, Dr. Romesh Chandra at Nowshera.
Azad flew from Delhi to Jammu this morning and visited the residence of R.C Sharma at Nowshera and offered his heartfelt condolences to the family members. He expressed sympathies with the bereaved family members and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Azad was accompanied by senior leaders of party including Sham Lal Sharma, Ravinder Sharma, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Ashok Sharma ex MLA, Anil Chopra, Sain Abdul Rashid, Ashok Kumar Sharma, Iqbal Malik and Dr. R.K Khajuria. Among others who were present Lovely Gupta, Sushil Sharma, Ch. Masood, Karamat, Iqbal Shwal, Rajinder Parshad, S. Rajinder Singh, Gourav Chopra, H.L Bakshi, Tara Chand and Subash Chander.
Later, Azad also met party workers at Dak Bungalow Sunderbani.
A delegation of PHE workers, daily wagers , casual workers who are agitating in support of their demands met Azad and apprised about their problems.
Ravinder Sharma Ex MLC facilitated their meeting with Azad and supported there genuine cause.
Azad assured the agitating workers that their demands would receive full support of the Congress Party in and outside the Legislature in the State.
