Azad manages deployment of Kashmir bound 6 Hyderabad doctors to Poonch

JAMMU: Responding to dire need of doctors and paramedics in Poonch, former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday managed deployment of six prominent doctors, detailed for Srinagar from Hyderabad, to proceed to the border district for ensuring medicare of the flood affected people. The doctors were scheduled to fly to Kashmir on Wednesday.
During his tour to Poonch and Rajouri, along with Congress incharge for Jammu and Kashmir, Ambika Soni, Pradesh Congress President Saif-ud-Diz Soz and Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, the former Chief Minister took up the matter at the highest level and sought the medical help on immediate basis.
Azad assured the residents of the twin districts that all out efforts would be made to provide whatever assistance is required in the areas hit by flash floods and landslides.
He was told that 36,357 Kanals of land has been washed away in district Poonch while 604 Pacca and 1795 Kachaa houses were completely damaged. Besides, 27 people were killed and 958 cattle perished in the floods.
Keeping in view the intensity of damage, Ghulam Nabi Azad directed the administration to provide adequate relief to the affected people at an earliest.
