JAMMU: Ghulam Nabi Azad, one of the most secular leader of Jammu and Kashmir and former Chief Minister of the erstwhile state besides Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha on Monday dissolved all the units of his Democratic Progr-essive Azad Party (DPAP) from the towering state committees down to the grassroots block-level teams.
After resigning from the Congress, Azad had formed the new party in Jammu and Kashmir along with senior Congress leaders.
The decision, formally announced from the party headquarters in Hyderpora, Srinagar, impacts all organizational wings including provincial, zonal, district, and block committees. Notably, even the Chief Spokesperson and other spokespersons have been relieved of their roles.
“This reorganization is part of a larger vision to rebuild and revitalize the party from the ground up,” the release read.
It further clarified that the committees would be reconstituted “in due course of time” with the Chairman’s approval.
The order was issued by Bashir Aarif, Secretary to the Chairman.
