Condemns Naxal attack, pays tributes to police personnel

SRINAGAR: Former Chief Minister of J&K and Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday condoled the demise of former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and hailed his immense contributions to the State as well as the country.
Shiromani Akali Dal patriarch Badal died at a private hospital in Mohali at the age of 95.
Azad described Badal as a great human being who spent his life for upliftment of the downtrodden and for the welfare of common people.
“Badal will always be remembered for his exceptional leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people. He was also a great political figure who contributed a lot to the nation,” Azad said.
Azad has prayed for eternal peace to departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Ghulam Nabi Azad also condemned the attack on Chhattisgarh Police.
He said that he was anguished by the cowardly attack on the Chhattisgarh Police at Dantewada.
Azad has paid rich tributes to those killed in this attack and said that their sacrifices will be remembered.
“I strongly condemn the attack and pay rich tributes to policemen martyred in this incident. Their sacrifices for the country will be always remembered. My prayers and thoughts are with bereaved families,” Azad said. At least 10 police personnel and a driver were killed in an IED blast triggered by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district on Wednesday.
