Ayurvedic Hospital organises medical camp

JAMMU: Under the directions of Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Director General Indian Systems of Medicine, J and K Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu organised a free Ayurvedic medical camp and nature study programme at Mantalai to mark the Martyrs Day of Udham Singh.
Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar in his message said that the Ayurved has an age old acceptance both at home and abroad, J and K being no exception there is paradigm shift towards Ayush world over and more and more people are attracted towards this system. He informed that Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu have treated more than 46,000 patients in OPD , 4,400 in Surgical OPD and 4,500 in Panchkarma. He further said that in Ayurvedic Hospital a total of 720 surgical intervention were done during last year through knifeless Kashar Sutra surgical procedures. During last period of time many patients shifted to Ayurvedic method of treatment by the awareness done by Government Ayurvedic Hospital through its outreach programme in which thousands of patients (4,500) got benefitted.
The camp was inaugurated by Balwinder Singh Sarpanch of Mantalai, who thanked Medical Superintendent Dr. Taran Singh for organising camp in which 345 patients suffering from different ailments were treated in the camp.
Dr. Taran Singh said that on the persistent demand from the people of area, free Ayurvedic Medical Camp was organised. He further added that nature study camp was also organised to identify the medicinal plants available in the area of Mantalai. He said that as mentioned in the ancient Ayurvedic scripts and Vedas the medicinal plants grown in the Himalayas are the best and most suitable for human race.
The doctors, interns and other staff of the hospital and students and staff of the Vinayaka Institute of Para Medical Sciences and its Chairman S. Amardeep Singh attended the camp.
