Attempts of Bunty-Babli to hush up investigations fail

JAMMU: Babli (Anita Sharma), a resident of 23 B/C Gandhi Nagar and her husband Shiv Kumar Sharma (Bunty), a known Financer, Fruit Dealer and Wine Merchant, has failed to get hushed up the sensational case registered by Crime Branch under FIR 48/23 against her for impersonation, cheating and fraud.
Although Bunty (Shiv Kumar Sharma) was approaching police and civil officers, both in their offices and residences, to bribe them to get the matter hushed up yet all his attempts have failed. A senior officer snubbed Bunty when he approached him to seek favours. One of the insiders said that the officer told Bunty, “You people do offence and then ask for favours, pretending to be innocent.”

Bunty was reportedly carrying baskets of imported fruits, whisky, gold coin, Raymond Suits (purchased @ Rs 500 per piece rejected by manufacturer with minor defects) and gifts to woo the officers, seeking favours to hush up the case against his wife Anita Sharma alias Babli, who is presently on bail.
Sources said that the CB sleuths is going to grill Anita Sharma alias Babli and others ,who were associated with her in committing fraud and cheating. Besides, her husband Shiv Kumar Sharma (Bunty), many JMC officers are likely to be face action for flouting laws for personal benefits and loss of lakhs of rupees to government.

According to FIR 48/2023, Anita Sharma alias Babli impersonated as the owner of House Number 84/110-A, Gandhi Nagar and tried to cheat Jammu Municipal Corporation to get under process certificate which she used to befool municipal officers during construction of House Number 44 D/C Gandhi Nagar whenever officials of Municipal Corporation approached at the site. Anita Sharma used to tell to the concerned officials that she has applied for the building permission to JMC on August 12, 2019. To substantiate her point, she used to show false documents by concealing the factual position. This, in the process, caused a huge loss to the JMC and the state exchequer by not depositing the requisite Building Permission Fee by adopting fraudulent means. The illegal construction was in gross violation of the setbacks and other norms of the JMC.
The Crime Branch registered FIR against Anita Sharma in non-bail able offence under Section 420/120B of IPC, punishable upto seven years imprisonment and fine. This infamous case, also known as BUNTY-BABLI CASE, reminds of the crimes committed by the lead pair in a Bollywood movie.
