Athlete Yasmeen of HPS shines at State, national levels

SAMBA: Athlete Yasmeen Akhter, a student of Humanity Public School (HPS), Bassi Kalan displayed extraordinary talent at State as well as National Level in athletic events.
Yasmeen Akhter, one of the upcoming young budding talent, won gold medal in 100m, 200m race in Inter-district Athletic Championship held in the year 2014-15 organised by Youth Services and Sports Samba. Besides this she also won gold medal in long jump in the same event. Continuing her winning streak in the same year, Yasmeen again won three gold medals in 100m, 200m race and in shot put in the District Level Rajeev Gandhi Khel Ratan Abhyan held at Samba, school management added. At State Level, she continued her successful journey by winning gold medals in 100 mtr, 200 mtr and 4 x 100 mtr relay race which were held in Srinagar. Climbing every step successfully, she again won gold in 100m, 200m, 4 x 100 mtr race in State Level Rajeev Gandhi Khel Ratan Abhiyan held at Jammu in the Year 2014-2015.
After winning all the State Level Competitions, she got selected for 60th National School Games 2014-15 (Athletics Girls U-14) held at Ranchi, Jharkhand. In the next year she was again selected for 61st National School Games 2015-16 (Athletics Girls U-14) held at Kozhikkode, Kerala. In the same yeat i.e 2015-16 she was again selected for National Level Rural Competition (RGKA) held at New Delhi.
Having such enormous potential in the State, school management appealed to the government to enhance its infrastructure with modern facilities so that the potential of these talented children can be catered properly.
