UDHAMPUR: To assess the loss of lives and damages caused by flash floods and landslides at Udhampur District, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Yasha Mudgal convened a meeting of all district officers of the district at conference hall.
Mudgal had expressed his sympathies with the grieved families and had issued directions to concerned officers to immediately undertake rescue operations so that the loss of life and property could be minimised. She said that the rescue and relief operations could be launched and priority would be given to save precious lives and property of the victims of flood and landslide.
Keeping in view the quick response to provide relief, the DDC directed concerned Patwaris of Revenue Department to prepare detail report and cases of loss of lives and damaged houses due to recent incessant rains in the area and instructed the concerned officers to take immediate action wherever required so that the people do not suffer more. The DDC also informed that Control Rooms have been set up at Udhampur headquarter where officers and officials are monitoring the situation to take appropriate precautionary measures.
She directed ACD Udhampur to give directions to their village level workers to work in coordination with concerned Patwaris of the area for making report of damages of loss of lives and property.
She appealed to the people to come directly to the respective Patwaris of their areas to determine the authenticity of the case for making claims of loss of lives and house damages. All Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars were directed to give requisition of tents, Tarpals, ration and others required for all affected families of their respective areas.
DDC directed Assistant Director CAPD to give two months ration to the affected families whose houses have been fully damaged in the recent incessant rain. She said that a survey team has been constituted which comprised of officers of Revenue Department, PMGSY, PWD, PHE and PDD to assess the loss of property and lives and the team was directed to prepare a detail list in this regard and submit the same to the DDC office within two or three days.
She further directed Chief Agriculture and Chief Horticulture Officers to submit a village and beneficiaries wise crop damage report to her office within three or four days whereas AD Handloom was directed to give 250 blankets to district administration for further disbursing of blankets to the affected families as soon as possible.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma, Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal, SDM Nobra, Ravindera Kumar, XEN R&B, PHE and PDD, senior officers of various department, Tehsildars, all officials of Revenue Departments and BDOs were also present in the meeting.
