JAMMU: Department of Paediatrics, Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, Sidhra, Jammu in association with Indian Academy of Paediatrics under the aegis of Dr. Ravinder K Gupta, Prof & HOD, Paediatric organized Divisional Round of 36th IAP Quiz today in the College Auditorium on 28th October 2023 in which the students from all the medical colleges of UT of J&K and Himachal Pradesh have participated. Team comprising of Ms. Mahima Bhat & Sonika Manhas from ASCOMS & Hospital were emerged as winners and Team comprising of Mihika Gupta and Mudit Sharma from ASCOMS were Runner Up, Ms. Khair Un Nissa & Kushal Kumar Bargath from GMC, Rajouri got 3rd position, teams from GMC, Jammu Ms. Saima Hymera & Priya Sathu got and Aagosh Bhat & Dipender Bhat got 4th & 5th position.
Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal/Dean, Govt. Medical College, Jammu was the Chief Guest on this occasion. The other dignitaries present on the occasion were Mr. D.K.Batra, Secretary, ASCOMS, Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS, Dr. Ashok Gupta, Ex-Prof & HOD, Paediatrics, SMGS Hospital, who while speaking laid stress on importance of academic activities in UG Curriculum, Dr. G.S.Saini, Prof & HOD, Paediatrics, SMGS Hospital & State President, IAP, while addressing the gathering lauded the efforts of organizers in organizing such a mega event flawlessly, Dr. Anil K. Gupta, Prof & HOD, Medicine, ASCOMS, Dr. Rabinder Rattanpal, Medical Superintendent, ASCOMS, Prof. Sanjeev Digra, Prof. Ashu Jamwal, Prof. Som Dutt, Dr. Anuj Bhatt from GMC, Jammu, Dr. Lucky Gupta from AIIMS, Jammu and Dr. Anand from SMVDNSSH, Kakriyal also witnessed the quiz competition. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, lauded the efforts made by Dr. Ravinder K. Gupta, Prof. & HOD Deptt. of Paediatrics ASCOMS for organizing flawless Quiz Competition. He also praised the efforts of the Management of ASCOMS for holding this academic event for Undergraduates. Dr. Upendra S. Kinjawadekar, National President, Indian Academy of Paediatrics, while addressing in virtual mode, highlighted the importance of such quiz and also appreciated the efforts of ASCOMS & Hospital in organizing such type of academic activity for undergraduates.
Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal, ASCOMS in his address, highlighted the achievements of Paediatrics department in general and that of organizer in particular who started his journey in Paediatrics and also informed that as an undergraduate student, Dr. Ravinder Gupta was the first to start Paediatric Quiz organized by IAP way back in 1988 and rose to become National Coordinator for organizing the IAP Quiz for coming two years.
Dr. Ravinder K. Gupta Quiz Master and Prof. & Head Paediatrics highlighted the importance of IAP Quiz and described all the rules and regulations of the Quiz to participants. He was assisted by Dr. Sushil Sharma who was a local quiz master. Dr. Vikas Mahajan and Dr. Manoj Sharma were the other quiz masters. D.K. Batra, Secretary, ASCOMS felicitated Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, the Chief Guest by presenting him a memento and thanked for gracing the occasion.
