Artists, students felicitated at painters camp

RAJOURI: The historic three days’ painters camp organised by Himalayan Education Mission Society Rajouri in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (regd), Jammu concluded on Thursday in the Himalayan auditorium with great pomp and show.
The valedictory ceremony was chaired by Ch. Qamar Hussain, MLA Rajouri whereas Dr Haseeb Mughal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri presided over the function which was witnessed by a large number of people from a myriad of backgrounds including socio political activists, educationists, art lovers, students and members of the civil society.
Farooq Muztar, Founder Patron HEMS, in his welcome address, presented the vision of the Society to make this entire Peer Panchal range a world class knowledge society with all the necessary ingredients of a civilised and healthy society focusing and addressing social, educational, moral, economic and other relevant issues.
He stressed on the urgent need for promotion of peace building measures, communal harmony, Art and culture and collective efforts for the holistic development of the border hilly belt of Peer Panchal. He opined that the world of art is a beautiful one free of prejudice, hatred and negativity and helps the artist to establish a link with the nature.
He also highlighted the initiatives taken by the Society to provide a platform for the younger generation to showcase their talents in a variety of fields.
He thanked all the guest and local artists for spending time in the campus and making the younger generation abreast with the latest artistic skills.
He also thanked O.P Sharma, Director JKCCA and Alam Dar Adam for making this event a successful one.
The artists who were felicitated during the function include Jang S. Verman, Jammu, Kulwant Singh Gill and Dharminder Sharma, Amritsar, Prabhinder Lall, Chandigarh, Reena Choudhary, Sonepat, Chhaya Dubey, Bhopal; Amrit Kaur, Anuradha Devi, Sahil Ohri and Dhananjay, Jammu; Tariq Mehmood, Surankote, Jyoti Singh Gaziabad; Rakshanda Yadav, Bheem Tal; O P sharma, Jammu., Kartar Chand Poonch and Pardeep Khanna Poonch
The position achievers of Himalayan Education Mission School in 10th and 12th classes from J and K BOSE and meritorious students of Himalayan Degree College Rajouri, various artists from Rajouri and Poonch were also felicitated by HEMS on this occasion. An exhibition of the works of the participating artists by JKCCA and a Book Exhibition by HEMS were also arranged on this occasion.
In his address Dr Haseeb Mughal (KPS), Sr. Superintendent of Police, Rajouri said that the talent of the people of Rajouri is at par with that of other parts of the state. He said that the talent of the locals needs to be promoted. He lauded the efforts Himalayan Education Mission Society Rajouri and JKCCA who have done a good job by bringing this event at Rajouri that could generate opportunity for other related events on this occasion. He said that such events will send a healthy message to the outer world about the art culture and people of this area.
The Chief Guest lauded the multifarious activities of Himalayan Education Mission Society and creating a platform for positive and constructive interactions and initiatives. He congratulated the Artists from within and outside the state for having displayed such a rare talent and inspiring and encouraging the students and youngsters of this area. He expressed his desire to dedicate his days and nights for the welfare of the people of this region and make all possible efforts to bring this remote hilly area on the National Map in the field of education and over all development.
The prominent personalities who spoke and graced the occasion included Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Abdul Qayoom Dar, Nisar Hussain Rahi, Nazir Qureshi, Azam Shah, M.N Qureshi, Dr J.A Qazi Principal PG College Rajouri, Prof Mussraf Shah, Prof Sawarkar Singh, Sabar Mirza , Prof Rashid Choudhary and Chander Mohan. The programme was anchored by Pardeep Khanna and vote of thanks was extended by Prof Sharief Chouhan.
