‘’These people (NC-Congress) are overreacting on Article 35-A. They must understand that the matter is with the Supreme Court and we must wait for the verdict,’’ Dr Singh told reporters at the sidelines of a function here.
‘’Person like Dr Farooq Abdullah, who says that stone pelters are part of the movement, is unfortunate,’’ he said adding, ‘’they must cooperate in sorting out the matter.’’
‘’So far as the stand of the Government is concerned, we are following Agenda of Alliance wherein it has specifically been mentioned that status quo will be maintained on constitutional matters.’’
‘’The matter is sub-judice. Some people have approached to the Apex Court and let us wait for the verdict,’’ he asserted.
On a query that how the Prime Minister can assure to maintain status quo on Article 35-A when it is sub-judice, Dr Singh said, ‘’as per media reports, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti met the Prime Minister in New Delhi and as per her statement, the Prime Minister has assured that the status quo will be maintained on some matters.’’
‘’We are talking about Agenda of Alliance. The stand of the Government will be clear only after Supreme Court judgment,’’ said Dr Singh.
The Government in Jammu and Kashmir is running on Constitution basis, he said and added, ‘’we must have faith in the Supreme Court.’’
