Army, YAC organises ‘Dangal’ at Bhadarwah

BHADARWAH: To inspire the rural youth to divert their energy in a positive way and to further promote age-old communal harmony, Indian Army and Doda Police in collaboration with NGO Youth Action Committee (YAC) is organising 2 days Dangal (wrestling) competition which started at Bhadarwah on Saturday. The wrestling competition in which famous wrestlers from across the country and neighboring Nepal are participating was inaugurated by Commanding officer 4RR Col Yogesh Chauhan along with DFO Bhadarwah Chander Shekhar, SP Bhadarwah Vinod Sharma and Vetren social activist Abdul Gaffar Bagban. Chief organiser of the event Naseer Mehboob Paddar said that the Dangal is primarily aimed at to promote communal harmony, beside encourage youth to participate in physical sports especially traditional Indian style wrestling, which is immensely popular among all sections of the society. The wrestlers of repute who are participating in the two days wrestling competition include, Deva Thapa from Nepal, former Rustam-e-Hind Reham Ali, Murad Ali, Guddu Pehalwan, Chander Mukhi, Ganju Laati and many others.
