RAJOURI: To commemorate India’s 69th Republic Day celebrations various events including wreath laying ceremony, cultural programmes and distribution of uniforms and books to students, sponsored by Samote Army was organised. Colonel from Samote Army addressed the gathering of students, teachers and other local dignitaries.
The children from the neighboring schools also participated in the events with enthusiasm and vigour. The school authorities were grateful to the army for organising such an event and for aiding the local populace throughout the year with Sadbhavana and Sampark projects.
NGOs We Care Society team under the chairmanship of Sushil Sharma visited Oasis Public School, Darman and interacted with students, parents, staff and army officials. The parents and locals conveyed gratitude to Samote Army for the sponsorship of complete educational expenses of eighteen children of which sixteen children were girls from poor economic background.
During the interaction parents of the children studying at Oasis academy, Darman highlighted the requirement of a compound wall, toilet facilities and a playground at the academy. Sushil Sharma assured the audience to take up their matter with MoS, MLA Kotranka and State Government to provide funds for the development of school. Major from Samote Army delivered a motivational talk and assured for whole hearted co-operation of army.
