Army provides medical assistance

POONCH: A medical and dental camp was organised at Brari a village in far flung areas of Poonch District by a Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Romeo Force. The aim of this camp was to provide medical assistance to include free medicines to the needy locals staying in remote areas, especially those affected during the recent heavy rains and floods in the area.
A team of doctor, from civil and army was present during the medical/dental camp who provided treatment, consultation, counselling and specialised medical care to the poor and needy of all age groups including children, women and elders.
Approximately 325 patients from far flung areas of Jamian Dhok, Satharban, Gagrian and surrounding areas of Brari village, Poonch District attended the camp and benefited from the facilities provided at the camp, PRO (Defence) Jammu, Lt Col Manish Mehta said.

The response of the locals was very forthcoming and have requested for more such medical camps in future as medical facilities in these areas are scarce. Conduct of such medical camps at regular intervals will bolster the growing relationship between the army and civil population.
