Army flags off National Integration Tour

MENDHAR: Rashtriya Rifles Sector Commander on Tuesday flagged off a ‘Heart of India’ an educational and motivational tour from Mendhar to Jammu, Bhopal and Indore.
“An educational and motivational tour for the youth of remote and far flung areas of Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch District was flagged off by the army” Defence Spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta, said.
Apart from instilling a sense of awareness amongst the youth, he said, the tour aims at promoting national integration and religious harmony.
“It will also provide the youth valuable exposure to the rich cultural heritage of our country and give a glimpse of the progress being made in the rest of the country,” he said adding that in addition to the major tourists spots at the cities being visited, the touring youth will also be visiting centers of excellence in the field of education like Daley College at Indore.
The children, he informed, are scheduled to meet Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and also Ex Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Bana Singh, PVC.
The tour was flagged off in the presence of various other civil and military officials as well as parents and family members of the participants who expressed their happiness and gratitude towards the army for organising such events, PRO defence said.
