Dear Editor,
Captain Amarinder Singh has never said that civilian Kashmiris should be killed by the army. The fault lies with political system and governing bodies who have deployed the army for internal security duties. Soldiers are trained to shoot to kill. In the army, there is hardly any time when written orders are passed. In a war-like situation, verbal orders are the gospel truth for the soldiers. If they are asked not to allow anybody unchecked from a Naka, they only know that anybody crossing without going through the check or does not stop even after signal, he is the enemy and should be shot. Do not blame the army if it is deployed for wrong tasks.
